日本軍は朝鮮半島をめぐり、ロシア軍と1905年2月8日から1904年9月5日まで日露戦争が勃発して権益を支配した。日本軍は、朝鮮半島から京釜鉄道の用地を略奪して、その鉄道の敷設や電信線を妨害した朝鮮人を銃殺した。「武威半島を圧す 鉄道線路妨害者の死刑執行」日本人の支配により朝鮮人が完全に被支配されて銃殺刑にされた。緒戦では韓国・清国を防御するとした日露戦争が、進展するほど逆に両国の支配権を一方的に拡大した。
