ベトナム戦争中の1967年11月19～23日に、南ベトナム国境付近のコントゥム省の中央高原地帯である875高地（Dak To）で激戦が勃発した。アメリカ軍は、北ベトナム軍と激戦となり、約4分1の戦死傷者を受けた。南と南東部の875丘の大部分で勃発した戦闘は、ベトナム戦争でも膨大な死傷者を出した。ダック・トー戦闘により、875高地にはアメリカ軍兵士の多数の死体が散在した。
