ベトナム戦争において、南ベトナム政府軍は道や川などを守衛していた。兵士の陣地内にて兵士らは家族交流をしていた。1966年にカマウ省で、北ベトナムの解放戦線との戦闘に巻き込まれて母親と子供が死亡して、南ベトナムの兵士らや縁者が遺体を見守った。
