第2次世界大戦において、ナチスドイツは、ユダヤ人をウクライナのヴィーンヌィチャに強制居住させた。ドイツ軍親衛隊の将校が1941年5月に、ユダヤ人の頭部に向けて銃により射殺した。塹壕の穴の中に大量虐殺しながらユダヤ人らの死体を積み重ねて埋葬して隠滅した。
