ヨルダン空軍のカサースベ中尉は米軍主導の対イスラム国の軍事行動に参戦した。2004年12月24日にシリア領空でイスラム国のミサイル攻撃を受けて墜落して身柄を拘束された。イスラム国は2005年2月３日に、拘束した中尉を火焼ぶりで殺害した残酷な映像をネット上で公開した。中尉は屋外に設置されたおりの中で、生きたまま火をかけられ、焼け焦げになった(DABIQ7_p8)。ヨルダン軍は直後に映像は本物として、懲罰と報復の声明を出した。
