アフガニスタン紛争にて、2001年から2014年までタリバーン勢力、アルカイーダ武力勢力、アメリカ軍等の新政府が厳しい内戦をした。2013年8月には首都カブールのインディガンジー子ども病院に、重傷の子供が声にならない声で泣き叫んだでいた。両手と下肢に包帯されるも、戦争による貧困で医療材料と人材が絶対的に不足して治療も困難であった。
