ベトナム戦争の末期にて、ベトナムのサイゴン市のダカオ地区にて、1968年1月からテト攻勢をした北ベトナム解放戦線と南ベトナム政府軍が戦闘した。一般市民であった露天商の妻が戦闘に巻き込まれて流れ弾で射殺された。主人は呆然として立ちすくみ、その後に病院に移送するも死亡した。
