満州事変にて、1931年9月18日の日本軍の関東軍が、満州の柳条湖にて満州鉄道の爆破事件から満州に侵攻した。1933年5月31日に中華民国との協定で満州を占領した。関東軍は満州の住民を捕虜にして、中国人の抵抗者を集めては、多数の見せしめの公開処刑をした。
