太平洋戦争にて、フィリピンのミンダナオ島でアメリカ軍のマラマス飛行場に対して、1945年5月に日本軍兵士は全滅をする万歳攻撃をした。日本軍は71名の全員が機関銃と小銃で死亡するも、アメリカ軍は戦死2名と戦傷者7名であった。
