第2次世界大戦末期に東部戦線にて、反スターリン体制のアンドレイ・ウラソフによるロシア解放軍軍が、逆にプラハのレジスタンスと強力して1945年4月にドイツ軍親衛隊と戦闘した。1945年5月9日にはナチス・ドイツが降伏したので連合国軍に投降した。大半はソ連軍に捕虜にされて、大多数はロシアに送還されて、秘密裁判後にて首謀者は首吊り刑で処刑された。
