ドイツのバイエル州の南西部のババーリアに存在したランズベルク強制収容所が連合軍により1945年4月29日に解放された。ナチス親衛隊は収容所付近の線路沿いに、ユダヤ・ポーランド・フランス・ロシア人を虐殺した。囚人服あるいは裸にされて約400名の死体が散乱して放置された。ランズベルク収容所は、ミュンヘン一揆はヒトラーが5年間収容され、戦後には戦犯の収容と執行所でもあった。
