大韓民国の全羅道中部の市である全州では、朝鮮戦争に巻き込まれて多くの朝鮮人市民が大虐殺された。朝鮮人女性らが1950年9月19日に虐殺された死体群から家族の遺体を探索した。北朝鮮軍により釜山までも撤退していた米軍等と大韓民国軍は9月29日にはソウルに帰還した。
