アメリカ合衆国のサウスダゴター州のウインテッド・ニーにて、1890年12月29日に白人の第7騎兵隊が原住民インディアンのスー族等に対して多くの子供や女子を含めて無差別の大虐殺をした。最後のフロンティアで大虐殺され放置された多数の遺体を無造作に埋葬した。1972年2月13日にも白人らにより民族浄化のために虐待され同地を占領された。
