Japanese soldiers for self-determined attacks with grenades were burned out and killed by Marine Corps of US Armys.

太平洋戦争においてマリアナ諸島のテニアン島で1944年7月24日から8月2日まで日本軍と米軍の激しい戦闘となる。日本軍は約8500名中に約8010名、米軍は約54,000名中に約328名が戦死し、さらに民間市民1500名が集団自決等で犠牲となる。8月の終末期では、日本軍の全滅する突撃に米軍が巻き込まれ、手榴弾と共に自決した日本兵と米軍海兵隊の丸焦げの遺体が散乱した。
