British soldiers were visually impaired and blinded by the poisonous gas of the German army at the Wor WarⅠwith marching in line with a row.

第1次世界大戦で、猛毒の毒ガスが使用された。1918年4月18日のエスタインの戦闘で、ドイツ軍の毒ガスで視覚障害となったイギリス兵士たちが、盲目に失明したために、応急手当て救護所へ一列に隊列を組んで行進した。盲目の兵士たちは、両手を前方の兵士の両肩で支えながら、隊列を組んでゆっくりと救護所まで恐る恐る歩行しながら移動した。
