ロシア内戦にて1917年10月25日のロシア革命で、革命側の労働者・農民主体の赤軍と反革命側の白軍の内戦が勃発した。アレクサンドル・コルチャーク将軍が率いる白軍らが、内戦の成果として赤軍の首切り頭部の検証をした。日本軍は1918年8月に赤軍との内戦に対する干渉国で最大の約7,300名をシベリア出兵した。1920年11月に白軍が撤退・亡命して終結した。
