朝鮮戦争にて、北朝鮮軍からアメリカ軍は1950年7月末には洛東江まで追い詰められた。アメリカ軍は9月15日からの仁川上陸にて優位になった。仁川北郊外にてアメリカ軍からの砲撃により、北朝鮮の戦車が炎上して、2人の北朝鮮軍兵士がデッキ上で黒焦げで戦死した。
