ハンガリーでは、ソ連の支配の政府に対して市民が1956年10月23日に動乱した。直ちにソ連軍が、数千名の市民を虐殺して、約25万人が難民として国外に逃避した。市民の動乱は短命となりソ連軍に弾圧され、恐怖政治を市民に受け入れさせた。ブタペストの動乱によって、国家保安局の兵士達の死体が散乱した。
