中国人民共和国とベトナム社会主義共和国の戦闘が、ベトナム戦争が1975年4月30日に終結してから、1979年2月17日から勃発した。ベトナムは西沙と南沙諸島の領有権、未確定の国境線、中国系ベトナム人への迫害、ソ連への接近、カンボジア侵略が中国と3月6日までの戦闘に至った。その後に1984年4月8日からの国境紛争により、中国軍は多数のベトナム軍を虐殺してベトナムの者陰山を侵略した。
