カンボジア(カンプチア)では、クメール・ルージュの武装組織が1975年4月に首都プノンペンを占領した。都市部の市民を強制的に農村部へ強制移住させた。全市民を人民公社のサルコーの小部屋に閉じ込めた。さらに新参者や知識階級等は拘束されて大量虐殺された。カンダール州のトレンバチの虐殺現場では、周囲への悪臭の放出と蝿が取り巻いて、大量の虐殺の犠牲者の遺体と白骨等が散乱した。
