第二次世界大戦の西部戦線のフランス内において、連合軍は1944年7月17日までにドイツ軍の約12%に相当する将校2,360人と97,640人徴集兵士が戦死した。ドイツ兵士たちが戦闘機を攻撃する高射砲の側で戦死していた。
