At the temporary cease-fire of the Muhden battle during the Russo-Japanese war, Russian soldiers worked to accommodate the dead bodies of the scattered fatalities.

日露戦争の末期の1905年3月1日から3月10日の奉天会戦で、日本軍は約25万人とロシア軍は約35万人による戦闘で大規模な犠牲者を出した。日本軍の死傷者は約7万人とロシア軍の死傷者は約8万人にも達して周辺の市民も犠牲者となった。奉天会戦の一時休戦中には、ロシア軍兵士は散乱していた戦死者の死体の収容作業をした。
