第2次世界大戦にて1944年6月10日に、ナチスドイツ軍はフランスの中部のオラドゥール・シュル・グラヌの全村民を無差別に虐殺した。全ての村民はフランス抵抗勢力として、男性197名、女性240名、子供205名の合計642名が、ナチスドイツ軍により火あぶりの焼死あるいは射殺された。散乱した多数の無差別な犠牲者の遺体残骸が集積された。
