湾岸戦争は、イラクが1990年8月2日にクウェート侵攻から勃発した。米軍等は死のハイウェイを撤退する市民を含むイラク軍を猛撃して虐殺した。不相応な攻撃力の行使で多量の犠牲者を出して1992年2月28日に終結した。
