広島原爆症により入院した佐々木禎子が1955(昭和30)7月29日まで血液検査のメモ書きで7月18日には白血数が10万を越えて10月25日に白血病で死去する。名古屋の女高生から折り鶴をもらい千羽鶴を折り始めるも原爆の子の像が建立される象徴となる。
